Mr. Noah emerged winner of the award which is the sixth
edition of its kind, after coming out of
the poll with the highest number of votes.
Noah, while receiving the award, thanked the organisers for
the effort and vision to put together an award that recognizes true and
exemplary service in the state. He also dedicated the award to the entire LASAA
team for their unwavering support since he assumed office.
Speaking to ThisDay, “This award is a vindication of the
effort we put into our work at LASAA both individually and as an Agency. The award
means people are watching us and appreciate our efforts at making Lagos better”,
he said.
According to Idowu Omisore, Noah said: “Our objective is to
create an enabling environment that will help all players in our sector to grow
their business and to keep abreast with new innovations from across the globe.
Visitors and participants are expected to discover the latest developments in
equipment, software, signage and outdoor materials, systems, fittings and
fixtures. Participants can maximise their time at the event by taking part in
the tailored conference sessions as well as experiencing live demonstrations
and networking opportunities. In addition the conference & exhibition will
deliver new market breakthroughs, significant on-site sales, joint venture
opportunities, new trading partners and an improved regional profile for
manufacturers”.
Mr. Noah joined LASAA in August 2011 with experience in the
media spanning three decades, having worked with organistions such as Insight
Communications Limited and Universal Communications Group (UCG), in Nigeria,
and the Greater London Council (GLC) and British Telecom International (BTI) in
the UK.
Also a political activist, Mr. Noah was previously the Publisher
of Island News, as well as a founding member of Radio Kudirat, an anti-military
rule radio station that operated out of Norway.
Under Noah’s leadership, a lot of ideas have been initiated,
which include the first Agency to introduce Skype as a customer service
platform, successful hosting of two editions of the Lagos Countdown,
commissioning of the audience measurement research, spearheading collaboration
with other outdoor advertising regulatory bodies and stakeholders and driving
innovative technologies resulting in iconic and ultramodern structures to compete
with other developed countries, just to mention a few.
LASMAYA was born out of the need to have a
credible project aimed at paying tribute to excellence and identify, recognize
and project genuine role models in Lagos State. Some of the award’s previous winners
include Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the current Commissioner for Works and
Infrastructure in the Lagos state.
